RHYTHM COLLISION

Rhythm Collision are seven people united by their love of reggae music. They came together in late 1995 and are currently Portsmouth's leading reggae band. Their music blends the rhythms of reggae with soulful vocals and jazz influenced melodies.

The line-up features James Perrett and Guy Lawson formerly with Bananafish, on drums and sax, Mark Stamos from Charlie Massiah and the Disciples on guitar, Steve Murray on bass, Noel J from The Silver Beatles on keyboards (a recent addition lending more depth to the sound), the legendary Hammy Haze on lead vocals and Matuka on backing vocals and percussion.

They have a 9 track album which was released in November 1997. It features 6 new studio songs, a couple of live tracks recorded at the Boulevard in Havant, and a Rhythm Professor dub mix. If you like reggae with a soulful, jazzy, lovers feel then check them out. Their live gigs are full of energy and definitely not to be missed. They will be playing in Gosport, Hayling Island, Portsmouth and out in the wilds of Hampshire at The Royal Oak, Hollywater over the next few months so watch out because they could be coming your way.
